Breton Bikes

Geoff and Kate provided a great route for all six of us on our bicycle tour of Brittany. We had a mixed age group of 6 to 70 and all the bikes worked very well. The accommodation around the route gave a glorious mixture of rural B&B’s and hotels all of which added to the ambiance. All-in-all , a great way to spend a week in France!

Geoff and Kate arranged a 4 week hotel/gite based cycling holiday for us.We did a 2 week loop south of Gouarec, then a 2 week loop north. Great variety of experiences, showcasing some of the best that Brittany has to offer.A lot of memorable people, food and places.Currently cycling the Loire, an entirely different experience to Brittany. The canals and river trails in Brittany are just so peaceful.We wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services and would certainly return for a different adventure, despite the flight from Australia

We booked our 1st holiday with Breton bikes in 1996. We had a brilliant time. 26 years later we returned with our youngest son of 13. We chose the canal based tour where we fished and picnicked along the way. Geoff and Kate adapted the last 3 days for us to include some different countryside, history and hills! We stayed in lovely B and B’s and returned home refreshed. We can’t wait to book up again, to explore some more. Thank you again Breton Bikes

The week-long cycling holiday that Kate and Geoff planned for us was I think the best holiday I've ever had! Great hosts (a mix of B&Bs where you sit down for an evening meal with the whole family, and hotels), amazing quiet roads and canal paths, brilliant weather, incredible food. The bikes were easy to ride and the only time we had an issue with the chain on one bike, Geoff was able to recommend a solution that worked straight away. Thank you both! We'll definitely be back. :)

We booked this year's family holiday with Breton Bikes based solely on all the detailed info on https://www.bretonbikes.com/ website, it sounded amazing but would it match up to the description? I needn’t have worried, Geoff and Kate are phenomenal at what they do which is provide excellent holidays in a beautiful but maybe somewhat undiscovered part of the world in central Brittany.We are a family of 4 (2 adults & children 9 and 11) with not a lot of cycling and zero kayaking experience and loved the adventure of a week of exploring the canals, villages, markets, restaurants and historical sites in the area.Geoff gave us an amazing recommendation for a birthday lunch – 15eur gourmet lunch (I didn’t think such a thing existed!) and they came to the rescue when we left some belongings at the gite – again with speed and no fuss.I couldn’t recommend this holiday enough whichever format you take – camping/gite/B&B options am sure they will all be fantastic! We definitely hope to make a return visit!

Sadly I didn’t have time for a full weeks tour but stayed instead on the quaint campsite and opted to do a few day rides. In addition to their popular tours, Breton Bikes can provide a choice of 15 or so day rides and the location next to the Nantes-Brest Canal and other ‘green cycleways’ gives a perfect choice of flat or hilly depending on how you’re feeling. The local scenery and villages are stunningly beautiful and the roads are eerily quiet. From the moment I was picked up and the warm welcome, Breton Bikes provided a sturdy bike and everything I needed for an action packed but relaxing holiday. I can’t recommend them highly enough and certainly hope to return next year.

What a wonderful way to spend a week! Brittany's beauty exceeded our expectations. It was a delight to cycle through the countryside with its rolling green hills, forests, beaches and charming old world villages full of flowers and character.We were very happy that we chose to go with Breton Bikes. Geoff and Kate run a family business and are experts at what they do. Geoff assembles many of the bikes himself. There is a tour available for every fitness level and interest. We really enjoyed meeting them and we felt very well supported throughout our week.We chose the heart of Brittany Tour on regular bicycles which was a great choice for us. The bikes were comfortable and well maintained. Our longest day of cycling was 53 km (actually 63 km for us as we got a little lost) and included some hard hills. We liked that a couple of the longer days cycling were a bit challenging for us. The tour was well planned with shorter cycling days at the beginning and end and an optional rest day in the middle. We opted to cycle even on the rest day as we were having such a great time.Accommodations ranged from pretty simple to fairly luxurious. We got well fed or had good food available nearby at every place we stayed. The low price of wine, cider and three course meals almost everywhere delighted us!The bikes were great, people were friendly, scenery was gorgeous and prices were right. What's not to love? We highly recommend Breton Bikes!!

The owners of Breton Bikes, Geoff and Kate, are wonderful people who love France and the French, speak the language fluently and are totally immersed in French society and culture. Kate plays in a fantastic local band called LosTrognos Coulos and Geoff is a fountain of knowledge on all things including classic cars and HiFi systems (their house is an aural nirvana as he always seems to have an incredible sound system on loan from some company whose products he is reviewing). They are the best possible hosts for a cycling holiday in France. I cannot recommed them highly enough!

We had a great bike trip with our 4 kids in Brittany thanks to Geoff and Kate! They’re very responsive by email during the booking period and prior to the trip. They provide great equipment and great service. Every hotel they had booked was ready for us and the first chambre d’hote was especially well prepared for my gluten free restrictions. I was skeptical the directions were too anemic but they proved more than adequate. I would have probably preferred to have more pictures (turn here!) or diagrams/maps, but we only missed one or two turns and never got really lost. I highly recommend a trip with Breton Bikes and would love to return in the future (though next time if we bring the kids we might spring for their gite!).
