Water Tower of Metz
Designed by Jurgen Kroger when Metz was part of the German Empire around 1908. The tower was built to supply the trains with water that ran on steam. It also acted as a shower for the operators of these heavy, heated locomotives.When the train station and its watertower transferred to the French and the SNCF train company, there was no functional need for the watertower.There were plans to make the tower a restaurant and a hotel but that never happened. It still has no function but it is still visually amazing to look at.

Water Tower of Metz
Elle s’intègre parfaitement dans l’architecture avec la gare de Metz, autre fois utilisé pour ravitailler les locomotives à vapeur et pour les douches des cheminots. Désormais avec la électrification du chemin de fer elle n’a plus aucune réelle utilité depuis plus de 60 ans a part le visuelle.
