La Balie - Luxury gîtes in French countryside, heated pool, free WIFI , stone farm building

I wish I could give more than five stars to La Balie. It is a beautiful location, with stunning villages and markets nearby. The buildings were a beautiful snippet of Southern France - each room equipped to a high standard and with a feel of tranquil running throughout. The outdoor spaces are perfect, with large sociable swimming pools perfect for relaxing around. Paul and Cecile were amazing hosts and gave us the most special stay, with memories lasting a lifetime. Thank you so much for such an amazing week, will hopefully see you again!

Nous avons passé trois jours à Pâques en famille (trois générations !) à La Balie, qui est située en pleine nature et au calme dans une campagne magnifique, entourée de bois et de prairies. Nous étions dans un gîte de trois chambres (lits immenses avec literie parfaite) ayant toutes leur salle de bain privative. Chaque gîte est une maison indépendante, rénovée, et décorée avec goût. Il a fait tellement beau que le propriétaire (absolument adorable et efficace) a ouvert la piscine pour que nous puissions nous baigner. La région est idéale pour se promener, à pied, à vélo, en voiture pour visiter les villages historiques situés tout à côté (très beau marché à Villeréal). C'est un endroit parfait pour un week-end en amoureux ou pour se réunir en famille en louant les deux autres gites en même temps. Nous reviendrons car trois jours ne suffisaient pas. A conseiller sans modération !

I stayed at La Balie as part of a yoga retreat in late September. The setting was perfect: quiet, relaxed and comfortable. The gardens and pool are immaculate. Clean and stylish accommodation and a wonderful studio for yoga. Our group were lucky to have a wonderful chef, Danne, who created varied and nutritious vegan meals. It was a total joy to stay at this special place. Short excursions to local sites including Monflancon and Villereal were fun and easy as there were no crowds and virtually zero traffic - and it’s less than an hour from the airport at Bergerac. I’ll definitely return!

In early October I was privileged to run a week-long yoga retreat at the stunning La Balie. What a glorious place! It is the most perfect place to host a yoga or wellness retreat: the studio is enormous and beautifully light, and the gite accommodation is very luxurious. Beautiful stonework and gardens, a perfect pool for lounging around, plenty of gorgeous villages and chateaux to explore nearby, and the hosts Paul & Cecile are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you do book here I can also recommend our wonderful chef Danne Kommer who fed us with amazing vegan food. I can't recommend La Balie enough and am certainly hoping to return!

Simply bliss!La Balie is the place to be. You won’t regret staying here, it’s truly wonderful.Paul and Cecile are very welcoming and generous hosts. They kindly invited us to yoga classes of a morning and informed us of lovely near by towns and markets to visit during our stay.If exploring isn’t for you, fear not the pool and courtyards are idyllic accompaniments to the property, allowing you to put up your feet and escape for some R&R. The grounds of La Balie are stunning and well kept. The cottages are clean and tidy as one would wish for. The cottages have been decorated beautifully and are spacious, I stayed in the La Lavandiere.As expected the French cuisine is tremendous and we very much enjoyed our stay. Paul and Cecile, thank you for having us and we hope to be back again soon!

Cela fait plusieurs séjours que nous organisons dans ce merveilleux domaine en pleine nature.Doté d'une salle incroyable c'est un endroit juste parfait pour organiser retraite de yoga, séminaire ou encore séjours bien-être à différentes thématiques.Les différents cottages sont tous bien équipés et permettent de maintenir plusieurs espaces de vie calmes et ressourçants grâce à l'intimité qu'ils offrent au groupe.Cet ancien corps de ferme a été rénové avec beaucoup de goût, le parc extérieur est vraiment un endroit magique pour se reposer.Paul et Cécile sont de merveilleux hôtes, à l'écoute et présents pour faire de notre séjour un moment unique !Merci beaucoup à tous les deux et à très bientôt pour une future collaboration !

Beautiful accommodation situated in the idyllic French countryside. Perfect for a getaway all year round! The houses were immaculate and beautifully decorated, all featuring well equipped kitchens and bathrooms and the stunning outdoor areas were great for relaxing by the pool or eating outside in the evening. Whilst the property is off the beaten track, La Balie is just a stone’s throw from charming villages, markets and local activities meaning there is plenty to do throughout your stay. No complaints, would highly recommend!

Un lieu superbe !Nous y avons passé le week-end de Pâques en famille.L'environnement est extra, au milieu de la campagne (nous y avons croisé des chevreuils).L'aménagement des lieux est moderne et nous avons passé une merveilleuse soirée dans la grande salle du bâtiment principal !La météo étant au RDV, nous avons pu nous baigner dans la piscine, quel agréable moment .Dernier point, qui a toute son importance : des hôtes accueillants et disponibles, qui nous ont recommandé les lieux d'intérêt à visiter à proximité !Nous reviendrons sans hésiter :)

Perfect destination to r&r! Its located in a beautiful french village, not too far away from shops and other quaint villages. There are plenty of activities within short distances, including kayaking, wine tasting, tranquil routes for cycling and running and much more. Paul and Cecile were incredible hosts with their hospitality and making sure everyone felt welcomed.The chateaus are equipped with all necessities, spacious and cleaned to a high standard. Two pools and plenty of sun beds.Could not recommend enough, hope to visit again! Thank you for hosting us
