Jacques Callot (ur. 1592 w Nancy, zm. 24 marca 1635 tamże) – francuski rysownik i grafik z Lotaryngii, tworzący w stylu manierystycznym. Zajmował się niemal wyłącznie grafiką - ok. 1400-1500 rycin i ok. 2000 rysunków, które znajdują się w różnych kolekcjach i muzeach. Jego prace przedstawiały sceny rodzajowe, historyczne, religijne, widoki miasta, portrety, karykatury, postacie z commedia dell’arte. (...)

This is actually a fountain installed in Vaudémont Square just outside Stanislas square honouring Jacques Callot, a famous engraver. The Vaudémont Square starts at Grand Rue, Rue Gustave Simon and finished at Carrière Square, Rue Héré. The fountain was created to enhance the Vaudémont Square on the western wall of the Héré gate. This neoclassical style style façades is surmounted by fire pots at the base and a fountain rises from it. The fountain was completed in 1881 with the Statue of the famous engraver, Jacques Callot and on either side of the statue are busts of other engravers, Israël Silvester and Ferdinand de Saint Urbain. It's actually an impressive fountain notwithstanding the golden gates and enormous square of Stanislas just behind it. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful monument.
