A Wine Affair

If your goal is to have some amazing local (i.e. Occitane région) wines and a knowledgeable guide, then this is the tour for you. Nicolas is not only really friendly, but the guy knows his stuff. The domains he took us to were fantastic both in the wine and the ambiance. Explaining things about grape growing and harvesting along with the actual wine making process, it was really informative and fun. And the wines were top!

Arguably, the best wine tour we've been on.Nick has clearly worked on and in wineries before so he really understands what he's sharing as opposed to some wine tours where the guide is really just the driver.His relationships with the wineries also create a very different and enjoyable experience in a very relaxed environment.Haven't laughed so much in a long time. Will definitely do it again if we're ever in the area.

I took a wine tour with Nicolas Martin and a group of about six others. It was not only informative it was really fun. It was especially interesting as it came after France had suffered severe heat and drought and the vintners were very happy to explain their growing process, potential problems and the satisfaction of producing a good bottle of wine. I was particularly impressed with the wineries Nick chose for us to visit. They were smaller, boutique wineries where the owners and managers were so friendly, passionate and ready to take the time to explain what we were tasting and get our opinions. I walked away feeling that I had a better idea of what a good wine tasted like, how to choose and where my personal tastes with wine lay. I'd recommend his tours to all from novice wine drinkers to people with quite a taste for the grape.

We booked a wine tour day with nick in october 2019.We are 5 active oldies from rural Victoria ,Australia stayed in Uzes for 2 weeks .We enjoyed the day so much that we booked another day with nick exploring other parts of the region.Nicks description of his vehicle as a 4 WD ,whilst vaguely accurate meant that the fifth person was squashed in the back .I suggested to nick that he needs a better vehicle !Nick is passionate about his wines. His knowledge of the region and its wines are superb.His lunches are delicious .Picnics in one winery garden and another on a 2000 year old aqueduct .Wine to match .We would highly recommend Nick as a really good bloke who looked after us very well .

My visit to the charming town of Uzés was made extra special by the wine tour organised by Nick for a group of friends, we walked through vineyards of the Cevennes learning about the types of vines, grapes and harvest period. We tried many varietals from Rosé to a lovely little Syrah. Bought a number of bottles, delicious!

An incredible experience! Nick knows the wine from the area better than anyone. You not only get to taste incredible wine but you get an education from an expert. Don’t speak French? Not a problem. Nick interprets everything the wine makers say and they all know and love him. I promise you’ve never been on a wine tour like this one.

It was my first time exploring this little known wine region and following this enjoyable tour it will not be the last. Nicolas was a great and welcoming host. Balancing the technical aspects of wine making, the terroir/uniqueness of the Cévennes, with the history and culture of this beautiful area of France. The winemakers we visited were intriguing and the tour of the caves and tasting from the barrel was a memorable experience. Nicolas knows this region extremely well and is a native of Uzès, so we were in good hands. I hope to take another of his regional wine tours next time I am in the area. Santé!

I had a wonderful time at the wine tour which Nic organised. I didn’t only learn about the different wines and how they are made but the views from the vineyards were breathtaking.

Let’s be frank: the beauty of the region, the enthusiasm and passion of the winemakers you get to meet, and the wines themselves are already stunning. Nicolas takes all those things, weaves in his knowledge, passion and character, and makes this experience stand above all other wine tours.You can tell - mostly because he tells you in the form of awesome stories - that Nic actually knows the winemakers very well, and that he has years of experience throughout the entire winemaking process. This translates into a tour that peaks your interest, broadens your understanding of wine and the making of it, but is most of all extremely fun.That in itself is worth a five-star review on Google, but the most important thing for us is the fact that in the few times we’ve now visited Uzès we’ve come to see Nic as a good friend. He’s a really good dude, who went to great lengths to make our experience extra special. He’s also great company for an apéro. We’ll be back, Clovis!

Thank you so much Nicolas! This year was the second time we did the wine tour with a wine affair as we loved it so much last year. It’s a very educational tour but very far from boring as the day is filled with humor and a great atmosphere at every winery. Nicolas knows the winemakers really well and they clearly love him as much as we do. This year the tour was even more special as my boyfriend asked me to marry him at the last vineyard. Nicolas had helped him with the arrangements to make the proposal as magical as it was. I will never ever forget this day. Thank you so so much!
